The Man From The South

   Introduction- The old man is sitting down as an American boy comes and sits beside him and they start talking about lighting a cigarette.
   
   Rising Action- When the Americna boy tells the older man that his lighter fails and says "Sure, it never fails. Not with me anyway." The bet idea is introduced by the old man.

   Climax- When the bet is occurring and when the other man is counting everytime the cigarette is being lit. 

    Falling Action- When the short black haired women comes into the room after taking a shower and immediately calls Carlos Carlos and takes the knife out of the mans hand. 

    Denouement- When the woman apologizes and says that the old man has nothing and that he is trying to sell what is hers and she says he has lost 4 cars and cut off 47 fingers till now, her 3 fingers are missing too. 

  Setting- The time is six o'clock and is in a hotel in Jamaica where the there is a fine garden that has lawns and beds of azaleas with many tall coconut palms. There is a pool where boy and girls are splashing around and playing. 

   Conflict- There are 2 main conflicts which are man vs man when the old man is having the net with the american boy and the other conflict would be man vs himself because when the man presents the idea of the bet the American boy is having second thoughts and is thinking about the benefit he would get if he won the bet . The older man also has a man vs himself conflict because he has some type of problem if he has cut off 47 fingers and has lost 4 cars.

Theme- The theme is Suspense because as your reading the story more suspense is building up you start asking yourself what is going to happen now?
